City Recognizing Intergenerational Day on June 1 2022-05-26

The City of Moncton is pleased to recognize Intergenerational Day, held annually on June 1 to celebrate the mutual benefits of building relationships across generations. A number of events will be held and the City is encouraging residents of all ages to recognize the day by joining one of the upcoming events.

“Intergenerational Day is an important time to recognize the value of sharing ideas and connections across generations of Monctonians” said Mayor Dawn Arnold. “Thank you to the City’s Seniors Advisory Committee and Youth Advisory Committee for their ongoing efforts to bridge the gap and share ideas to make Moncton a more welcoming City for everyone”.

To celebrate Intergenerational Day, the following events will be held:

  • Intergenerational Game Night
    • Date: Thursday, May 26
    • Location: Moncton Lions Community Centre, 473 St. George Street
    • Time: 6 pm to 7:30 pm
  • Intergenerational Reading & Craft Session
    • Date: Wednesday, June 1
    • Location: Moncton Public Library, 644 Main Street
    • Time: 10 am to 11 am (English story time) and 11 am to 12 pm (French story time)

In partnership with Sistema, musical performances will also be offered at Seniors Homes on Wednesday, June 1.
