Notice
Moncton City Hall Council Chambers are undergoing renovations and are closed until the end of September 2024. During this period, all regular public Council meetings and Committee of the Whole meetings will be held either virtually or at another location.
Please see the list below for details. For virtual meetings, the link to view the meeting online will be provided before noon on the day of the meeting. All regular public Council meetings and Committee of the Whole meetings will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

2024 Private Council Meetings
In-camera City Council meetings are also known as private or closed meetings. The public is not allowed to attend a private Council meeting.
A closed Council meeting or a part of a public meeting that is closed to the public must adhere to the Local Governance Act, Section 68 (1)(a-j) – Closed meetings.
Only the following subject matters may be considered at private or closed meetings. The relevant Local Governance Act paragraph is noted after each item:
- Confidential by legislation – 68.1 (a)
- Personal – 68.1 (b)
- Agreements or contracts – 68.1 (c)
- Land matter – 68.1 (d)
- Government confidentiality – 68.1 (e)
- Legal or privileged advice – 68.1 (f)
- Litigious or potentially litigious – 68.1 (g)
- Security – 68.1 (h)
- Police investigation – 68.1 (i)
- Labour, employment, and negotiations – 68.1 (j)
The City of Moncton schedules private meetings for the second Monday of every month, but meetings are only held if there are items that need to be addressed in a closed meeting.
