Centennial Park and Jones Lake Closed to Recreation 2024-06-12

The City of Moncton wishes to inform residents that due to high counts of E. Coli bacteria found during routine testing, the lake at Centennial Park and Jones Lake is closed to recreational use until further notice. Kayaking, canoeing, and other recreational activities are prohibited, and pet owners are asked to keep their dogs out of the water and not let them drink or swim in the water.

Notices and signage have been posted. The City of Moncton will continue to monitor the situation and advise of any updates as conditions change. Routine testing is done on all municipally owned bodies of water.

The City of Moncton apologizes for any inconvenience and wishes to thank residents for their cooperation.
